2024 Hearing Australia Lifetime Achievement Award

14 October 2024

Congratulations to our 2024 Hearing Australia Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Ann Porter AM.

This Award is designed to recognise a person in the hearing sector that has made a significant and sustained contribution to improving the hearing health of Australians.

As the founder and CEO of Aussie Deaf Kids, Ann has made an incredible contribution to families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Aussie Deaf Kids aims to empower parents raising a child with hearing loss through online support, information and advocacy. Ann established Aussie Deaf Kids in 2001, and since then the organisation has grown into a vital resource for thousands of families across the country.

Ann has spoken at numerous conferences and is a founding member and current Co-Chair of The Global Coalition of Parent of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. She has also been very active in working with Hearing Australia over many years, helping to improve service delivery.

Thank you to the Hon Bill Shorten MP, Minister for the NDIS and Government Services, for presenting the Award.
