- If the tip isn't inserted correctly, the sound from the hearing aid may not be as good as it should be, as not all of the sound will be directed into the ear
- If you have turned the hearing aid on before inserting, it may whistle as you put it into your ear until it is correctly in place
- If it still whistles after you have inserted it. the tip may need repositioning
- The hearing aid may not be secure if it is not hooked correctly over the ear and may feel uncomfortable
- If the tip is not inserted correctly, your ear may become sore
- Sometimes this means that the tip needs to be changed by your audiologist or get an alternative size fitted it it is uncomfortable
