Our Core Values

Hearing Australia’s values in action: Discover our guiding principles

Our values are not just words; they shape our actions and interactions with our clients, colleagues, and the communities we serve. As a purpose-driven organisation, our values define who we are and how we approach our mission to provide life-changing hearing solutions. Let’s hear from some of our people who embody these values at Hearing Australia.

Care

Madeleine Pearson, Clinical Operations Manager, Northern Territory – “Everyone works together to create a great workforce that we’re excited to keep coming back to. It’s powerful to be able to make a difference in someone’s life, so we all want to support each other to provide what the community needs.”

Sandeep Babbar, Head of Applications, Macquarie Park - “We strive to provide excellent services so everyone who walks through our doors feels like they've been cared for. We’re a trusted brand because of our client-first approach.”

Rheanna Beer, Clinical Community Advisor, Tasmania - “The work Hearing Australia does specifically in First Nations communities is absolutely empowering. They are just so prominent and active, and it’s really incredible to be part of that.”

Excellence

Victoria Renshaw, Centre Manager, Perth - “Even though I'm not directly supporting clients with hearing and hearing aids, what I do still enables everybody around me to do their job to the best of their ability in order to give the best outcome to all of these people.”

Marcus Turner, Risk and Resilience Manager - ““I’m proud to be part of an organisation that supports people at every stage of life. From empowering kids to succeed in school to helping elders maintain their independence, our work enhances quality of life in ways that ripple through families and communities.”

Tamarra Styles, Clinical Community Advisor – “I love that I’m helping children and their families. When parents come in worried about their child’s hearing, it’s incredibly rewarding to offer reassurance or provide the guidance they need for that all-important early intervention.”

Integrity

Sandeep Babbar, Head of Applications, Macquarie Park - “It's all about doing what’s right for the communities we serve, for our clients and for our employees.”

Rheanna Beer, Clinical Community Advisor, Tasmania - “Hearing Australia is so active in working in communities, not just First Nations but across the entire country. We have recruited community hearing advisors who go into the community and advocate for hearing health. They encourage everyone to get their hearing checked - whether it’s at a pharmacy after they’ve had a vaccination or at a community event. It’s about actively promoting hearing awareness.”

Relentless Improvement

Sandeep Babbar, Head of Applications, Macquarie Park – “We're the ones behind the scenes that build and support the operating system that our people use on the frontlines. So, the more efficiently we can deliver the software, the more people we can help.”

Victoria Renshaw, Centre Manager, Perth - “We’re working on closing that gap so children with hearing loss have the best opportunity to be successful in life. I never once thought about how hearing loss could really change the trajectory of a person’s life, and how access to services and early intervention can make a big difference. Now, it’s something I think about every single day.”

Matt Croteau, Research Audiologist at NAL - “There are a lot of questions in hearing health that still need answers, and we’re working very strongly on that. In some cases, research takes years, so it’s exciting when projects wrap up and you see their impact.”

And something that really matters to us...

Our diverse and inclusive culture. In an ever-changing world, we know that embracing and celebrating differences is essential to providing quality hearing services for all Australians. That’s why we’re committed to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and respected regardless of their background, identity or experiences.

Rheanna Beer, Clinical Community Advisor, Tasmania - “Being a young Aboriginal woman, coming into a welcoming workplace with such strong values around diversity and inclusion was amazing. I also think Hearing Australia is leading the way with cultural safety. I’ve been involved in developing our Reconciliation Action Plan. The goals we’ve set in our RAP might be high, but we should be aiming high, and it’s exciting to see that we’re actively persisting for change.”

Sandeep Babbar, Head of Applications, Macquarie Park - “We have a very diverse workforce, even within our IT department. There is representation across the board of different countries and different cultural backgrounds. But there's not just diversity in who we are or where we come from; there’s also diversity of thought that exists within the teams as well. Because we don’t all think the same, right? Diversity of thought is there on top of the diversity and inclusion policies we have in place, and you can see it when you visit Hearing Australia’s head office.”
