Member for Bonner Ross Vasta today joined with Hon Michael Keenan Minister for Human Services to tour the new Australian Hearing flagship centre in Mt Gravatt.
The centre has already provided over 6,000 services this financial year and supports almost 1,000 children with a hearing loss.
This new Australian Hearing centre features an interactive reception area, activity zones, revamped consulting rooms and spaces to interact with the latest hearing technology.
Australian Hearing Acting Managing Director, Kim Terrell, said Australian Hearing provides world leading research and hearing services to clients throughout Australia.
“We are the only provider of government funded hearing services to young Australians up to 26 years old with permanent or long-term hearing loss. In addition, we care for pensioners and eligible adults, as well as adults with complex hearing health needs. Our expert team also provide services to close to 10,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including clients living in remote communities, just under half of whom are children,” said Mr Terrell.
